Commercial Garage Door & Overhead Door Repair

Repair and installation for shops, warehouses and farm buildings across Calaveras, San Joaquin and Amador Counties.

When a bay door won’t open, work stops. Afford-A-Door Inc. repairs commercial sectional doors, roll-up doors and the openers that run them. We’re an owner-run company based in Valley Springs. John has spent 39 years in the trade, and he’ll tell you what’s wrong and what it’ll take before any work starts.

Call John at (209) 327-8585 to book a visit.

Common Commercial Door Problems

It won't open or close all the way

Usually a spring, cable or opener problem.

It's loud, shaky or slow

Worn rollers and dry hardware wear out fast on a door that cycles all day.

It's off its track or hanging crooked

Often a forklift or truck bump, or a broken cable. Stop using it.

The opener runs but the door doesn't move

It could be the opener, the drive, or a broken spring.

Dented panels or slats

Some sections can be replaced. Some doors need replacing.

Gaps at the bottom

A worn bottom seal lets in dust, rain and pests.

See one of these? Call John at (209) 327-8585 and tell him what the door is doing.

Commercial Doors We Work On

Commercial Sectional Doors

Panels that roll up into the ceiling on tracks, like a home garage door but heavier and used far more often. We repair springs, cables, tracks, rollers and damaged sections.

Roll-Up Door Repair and Installation

Roll-up doors coil around a drum above the opening. They’re the usual door for a shop, storage unit or warehouse where ceiling space is tight. We fix doors that bind, drop or won’t stay up, and replace worn springs and slats.

Commercial Garage Door Openers and Motors

A commercial opener (also called a motor or operator) lifts a heavy door many times a day. We find out whether it needs a repair or a replacement, and explain the difference before we do anything.

We work on doors for auto and repair shops, warehouses and storage buildings, farm and ranch buildings, wineries, and businesses with a back-of-house roll-up door. Not sure whether your door is something we handle? Call John and describe it.

Commercial Garage Door Repair and Installation

Spring and Cable Repair

Commercial doors are heavy, and the springs and cables carry that weight. When one breaks, the door won’t lift or drops unevenly. We replace springs and cables and balance the door.

Off-Track Doors and Bent Tracks

A bumped track or a snapped cable can pull the door off its rollers. We straighten or replace the track, reset the door and check everything it hit on the way.

Panels, Sections and Slats

Dented sectional panels and damaged roll-up slats can often be replaced on their own. If the door is too far gone, John will tell you plainly.

Commercial Opener Repair

Doors that hum without lifting, reverse for no reason or stop halfway usually point to the opener, the drive or the safety sensors.

New Commercial Door Installation

New sectional and roll-up doors sized for your opening, with a clear quote before anything is ordered.

Bottom Seals and Weatherstripping

A worn bottom seal lets in dust, rain and pests and lets heat or cool air out. We replace seals so the door closes tight.

Door Stuck Open or Off Its Track?

Don’t keep running the opener, and don’t try to force the door. Close off the area so nobody walks or drives under it, and call John at (209) 327-8585. He books every job by appointment and will give you the first time he has open.

Commercial Garage Door FAQs

Yes. We repair commercial sectional doors and roll-up doors, and we work on the openers that run them.

It depends on the door, the part and today's material prices, which keep changing. John looks at the door and gives you a quote before any work starts, so you know the cost before you say yes.

We don't offer same-day service. Call John at (209) 327-8585 and he'll give you the first time he can get there. If the door is stuck open or off its track, close off the area and stop running the opener until we arrive.

If the door is structurally sound, a repair is usually the better value. If it's badly damaged, rusted through or keeps breaking, John will tell you plainly whether replacing it makes more sense.

Yes. California contractor license #980892. You can check it on the CSLB website.
